Kunstwerk Mgr. Nolensplein
Ik ben Jan Janssens, beeldend kunstenaar.
Het kunstwerk voor het Mgr. Nolensplein ga ik maken op basis van participatie.
Dat betekent dat ik graag jullie input wil hebben om het werk vorm te kunnen geven.
Ik ga een Heuvel maken, voor de Heuvel, waarin een gelaagde ontmoeting plaatsvindt tussen ouderen, volwassenen, jongeren en kinderen.
Van de ouderen ben ik benieuwd wat kenmerkend was voor de wijk vroeger en hoe de wijk is opgebouwd.
Welke (bijzondere) verhalen en momenten horen daarbij?
Van de volwassenen wil ik graag weten hoe de wijk zich heeft ontwikkeld, wat er heeft gespeeld en wat kenmerkend is voor de wijk.
Welke (bijzondere) verhalen horen daarbij?
En de kinderen en jongeren hebben de toekomst.
Wat ontbreekt er nog in de wijk?
Wat vinden jullie belangrijk en wat mag nog invulling krijgen?
Deze informatie wil ik graag bij jullie ophalen.
Daarom ga ik een aantal momenten organiseren waarop jullie allemaal welkom zijn om hierover te vertellen.
Het zou ook leuk zijn om samen met mij te tekenen, zodat ik jullie beelden kan gebruiken als inspiratie voor het kunstwerk.
Jullie verhalen, ideeën en tekeningen vormen uiteindelijk de basis voor het kunstwerk.
Op die manier wordt het een werk dat niet alleen vóór de wijk is gemaakt, maar ook met de wijk.

My name is Jan Janssens, and I am a visual artist.
The artwork for Mgr. Nolensplein will be created through a participatory process. This means that I would love to receive your input to help shape the artwork.
I will create a hill for de Heuvel, where older adults, adults, young people and children can come together and connect.
From older residents, I would like to learn what made the neighbourhood unique in the past and how it has evolved over time. What special stories, memories or moments are connected to the area?
From adults, I would like to hear how the neighbourhood has developed, what events or changes have shaped it, and what makes it distinctive today. What stories do you associate with the neighbourhood?
Children and young people represent the future.
What do you feel is still missing from the neighbourhood?
What is important to you, and what would you like to see in the future?
I would love to collect these stories, ideas and perspectives from you. To do this, I will organise several moments where everyone is welcome to come and share their experiences. It would also be wonderful to draw together, so that I can use your drawings as inspiration for the artwork.
Your stories, ideas and drawings will ultimately form the foundation of the artwork. In this way, it will become a work that is created not only for the neighbourhood, but with the neighbourhood.
